Today I continued with the alignment and drilling of the main spar web using the existing pieces as the template, this went fairly painlessly. I am up to the point of countersinking 2 screw holes from the Sonex optional revision drawing to comply with latest recommendation. I am presently deburring the web and then will be ready to dimple required holes and then prep and prime piece. I am awaiting rivets and bolts on order from Aircraft Spruce. I also ordered a hand rivet squeezer to try and ensure good results for the rivets and prevent any small damage to the spar at all this time! Very confident that it is going ahead well despite the extra time to rework this section.
It would have been unacceptable to use the original web with the small cup impressions made by the gun. I am glad I have done this work.
