I had previously added 2 gallons of fuel to each wing tank to fill the 2.75 header tank and have minimum fuel in each wing tank to leak check the lines from the wings to the header. 5/8 gallon in each wing is considered unusable. Since then we had run the engine for .3 hours to sync the carbs.
The aircraft uses an electric fuel pump for takeoff and landing in addition to the engines mechanical fuel pump. The electric pump is a flow thru pump. I ran a gravity feed flow test at the firewall and measured 12.8 gallons per hour. Rotax specified consumption is 7,1 g/h at takeoff power.
