I painted the float bottoms using the recommended primer and float lacquer from Randolph, aka Consolidated Aircraft Coatings. The primer is a two part epoxy and the lacquer is the standard old aluminum float paint.
According to their instructions the primer and lacquer can be painted with very short drying times between coats and the result came out very good.
