Brief Description: Fuselage Rotisserie, Part 3

Next, I built the stands that you see in the pictures. In the first picture, I am pointing out (with my right hand) where the forward bolt comes out of the fuselage (where the canard bolt will be) and with my left hand I am pointing out there that same bolt will go through the forward stand. As you can see, there is a fair amount of triangulation on the stands, and I also put wheels on the stands.
The forward and rear stands are almost identical. The only significant difference is that the rear stand has an extra hole drilled through it a little above the pivot bolt. I put a 1/4" bolt through this hole and into the round disk that I mounted to the aft end of the 4"x4" post (see previous log entry). This 1/4" bolt locks the fuselage in specific rotated angles.
The second picture shows the fueselage mounted in the rotisserie. I also joined the forward and aft stands with 2"x4" wood to make the unit more stable. This especially helps when I am pushing the fuselage around to different areas of my garage.
The third picture shows the fueselage rotated a little more than 90 degrees and the bottom is exposed. While it may look like I am holding the fuselage from rotating, that's not the case. It's very well balanced and will easily stay in any position that I place it.
Also, the black rope that's around the fuselage a little forward of where I am standing was just there as a safety. I wasn't absolutely certain that my design would take the load, so I had a rope tied around the fuselage and up to the garage ceiling just in case something let go. I have since done a lot of jostling and sanding and moving and pushing, and the stand and fuselage have help up perfectly!
On a side note, the opening at the front of the fuselage (right side of third picture) is for the retractable nose gear. I am still not certain if I am going to use that or make the nose gear fixed.
