The Falcon XP kit requires a fair amount of cable swaging with Nicopress fittings. When I looked at the tools at Aircraft Spruce, the economy tools were between $19 and $37, but there were two problems with them: I would need both tools to cover the cable sizes that I will be working with, and they are both very low volume tools in that it would take a while to swage the cable. I needed something that would work much faster and would also cover all of the needed cable sizes. Aircraft Spruce offers one that looked like it would work very nicely (click here to see it), but at almost $300 dollars, it was very expensive, although it looks like a very nice tool.
I looked around a bit and came across a similar tool at Amazon. Looks like it's gone up in price a bit since I purchased it, but it was a little less than $50. The first picture shows this tool.
The tool was supposed to come with a "Go-No Go" guage, but it didn't. When I contacted the seller, they handled the error very, very, well. But, I was left without a guage. Searching the Internet, I came across the great gauge shown in the second picture.
