Brief Description:  Nosewheel Pivot Assembly - Part 2

Continuing with the nosewheel pivot assembly.

We now need to mount the upper attachment for the nosewheel assembly (the "Pod Mount Channel." The instructions say to move it forward from the existing dimples (dimples are sometimes molded into the fuselage to indicate where items are to be attached). If I had simply followed the instructions that moved it forward like they said, it would not have been enough parts would not have fit. However, what I actually did was to trial fit parts to find out where they should go, and use those for the mounting locations.

The first picture shows the pod mount channel installed. This is looking into the nosewheel opening with the fuselage laying about over on its' left side (actually, pivoted in my "Fuselage Rotiserie" as previously described).

The second picture is basicly the same view, just pulled back to show the exterior portion of the nosewheel pivot. One thing to note here is that the instructions say to "run bolts up through plate..." to secure the bottom bearing assembly. I felt that they really should be ran DOWN instead of up, so that's what I did. My reasoning is that if the securing nut comes off, if the bolt is down, then the bolt will stay on and continue to provide some support; however, if the bult is up and the nut comes off, then the bolt would fall off.
