Brief Description:  Forward Seat Fiberglassing, Lower-Up

Now that the back of the forward seat has been fiberglassed, I trimed it to size and shaped the forward (up) side.

The first picture shows the seat sitting on the lower portion of the seat form. While you can't really tell from the picture, the back side of the seat has already been glassed.

Next, and not shown in the pictures, is I trimmed about 1/4" of foam off of the edges of the seat all the way around. I will fill this with a mixture of resin and microballons immediately before I fiberglass the top of the seat. The top layer of fiberglass cloth will be pressed into this wet mixture, and will secure the top and bottom fiberglass areas together.

The second picture shows the lower area of the seat after fiberglassing. It's a mess, but trims up nicely once it's dry. I chose to do just the lower area at first so I could keep it more level and have less problems with resin running.
