Brief Description: Main Landing Gear Cross-Tube Assembly
Installed the main landing gear cross-tube assembly. There is a right and left side and they are supposed to meet in the middle of the fuselage, but didn't. The manual says that if they do not meet in the middle, to move them inward "until weld is flush with side of pod." When I did that, there was still about a 3" gap. I bought some more aluminum tube and modified the mating area including adding a solid fiberglass rod on the inside for extra support. The pictures show the finished system.
The third picture shows the forward area of the left landing gear cross tub. The distance that you see created by the white block is what sets the set-back angle of the landing gear leg. So, the right and left use slightly different thiknesses of blocks so that the angle is correct.
