Brief Description:  Ballon Test on Left tank & Fabricate Flap parts

Tonight I remembered to stop at the dollar store on the way home from work to pick up some balloons. These are used to test the tanks for leaks. I used a flared cap fitting to cover the vent line and put the balloon over the fuel line fitting. I then blew air in the drain valve till the balloon filled. I put 2 marks with a sharpie on the balloon 1" apart. If the balloon stays inflated and the marks remain 1" apart, then I don't have any leaks......and quess what? No leaks!! I still have to do the right tank, but I broke the other balloon (I should have bought more...). I moved to the fabricating bracket parts for the flaps. I like doing this sort of stuff! I ended up with 3 - W-925C-L's and 3 - W925C-R (3 for the left wing and 3 for the right). I then did 2 - FL-906A, one for the right wing and one for the left. The plans only show the dimensions for the left wing parts, a little thought must go in the fabricating of the right wing parts.....but nothing I can't handle....so far. I'm getting a lot of time off for the holidays, so I plan on spending some time working on the plane. I also have scheduled with Wendy to buck skin rivets on Tuesday........
