Brief Description:  Wing Rib Deburring.....

I began tonite by taking a long look at all those ribs.........The only way to get throught the long and tedious process of deburring and fluting is to get at it! I started with the tank ribs. I used a 2" 3M wheel on the drill press to do most of the edges. I used a 1" wheel on a die grinder to do the holes and corners. The speed deburring tool works well for the small holes. I finish up with a small micro file (round) to do all the little nooks & crannys. I finally run my fingers along the entire edge and spot any remaining rough areas. This needs to be repeated for EACH RIB! I managed to get all 14 tank ribs deburred and began to flute one rib.....all in 2.5 hours. at this rate I figure it will take about 20 - 25 hours to prep all the ribs.....Stay tuned for tomorrows exciting play by play rib deburring action!
