Tonite finished the empennage!!!! I went to Home Depot today to try and find a bushing for the pivot hole I told you about yesterday. I went to the nuts & bolts section and found bushings (spacers) in one of the special parts bins. Sure enough....I found EXACTLY what I needed. I drilled both pivot holes, then enlarged the holes to size, deburred and bolted the elevators together. I also had to change the bolts on the left elevator counter balance ( I originally put it in backwords and it was catching on the HS during movement. Once that was done,,,the Empennage was done! I rigged up a hanging carpet sling on the wall and that is what the HS and elevators will rest till they are attached to the fuselage. I wll now take a break and help Wendy move to her new shop. I wll also give the garage a thoughough cleaning. If I get bored, I might install some of the fiberglass tips on the empennage parts....we'll see. Wings are next.....
