Brief Description: Suprise!! Empennage was delivered early!
I woke up and started to get the power tools adjusted and get the shop finished so I can have a day off tomorrow (4th of July). I was planning to get a good deal of the compass rose painted. That was not what was to happen.....Wendy called me in an said she had a present for me. I went in the house and there was the empannage shippment from Fed-X. They said the delivery would be here on Wednesday (July 5). I was very pumped and went back to the shop to clean up and begin the inventory. Inventory took about 6 hour. All part were there and in great shape. They pack these kits very well (I was impressed). I was amaized how little the rivets were....I got done with the inventory and started assembly at 6:30. Starting with the front spar, I clecoed the spar and doubler together. I then match drilled the 1/8" holes to #30. At last, I have begun! I got to use the new band saw and drill press right from the start as I had to fabricate the 2 attach angles and add them to the spar assembly. They came out almost perfectly and I was on a roll!. I continued with the rear spar and finished the nite by attaching the 8 outboard hinge brackets. These clecos are great. I'm really glad I got the pnuematic cleco installer. 4 hours today, not including the 6 hours I spent on inventory
