Brief Description:  Brakes and rudder pedals

Today is Wendy's birthday, so I did not want to work on the plane all day, but she ended up workiing about 4 hours herself. I also took my Mom back to the hospital for another dose of blood platelets. They have change their diagnosis and are now saying she has the beginning stages of Lukemia.....They will begin Chemo on monday. It looks to be very curable, so we are hoping for the best...besides, she's a tough old broad!

I've decided to paint the brake pedals bright red, so I needed to get them all drilled to the master cyliners. In order to do that, I had to clamp the rudder pedals (bars) together, then clamp the brake pedals to a long flat bar of metal (I used a metal yard stick). This lines up the brakes in the proper way, so they can be drilled to the master cyliners. I drew a centerline on the brake angel, and where the hole matched up to the centerline is where I drilled the hole. They turned out perfect. I then dis-assembled the brakes and rudder so I could clean and get the brake pedals ready to prime. I used the scotch-brite pad and acetone to clean them. I then used the alodine to coat each one. I will use the AZKO epoxy primer on these, because they will get a lot of wear and I want to make sure they are protected. I will probably use a rattle can paint on these...I'll go to home depot tomorrow to see what they have.
