Today and yesterday I spent about 5 hours on the crotch strap kit. This kit is optional, but if you intend to use a 5 point seat belt harness, you need to install this. The kit is basically 2 halves that are installed between the seat ribs, with a space of 1/8" to accomodate the seat belt crotch strap. After cleco-ing the halves together (with spacers), the assembly is fit into the fuselage. After drilling the mounting holes, the assembly is removed and deburred and dimpled. There are also 4 nut plates installed on each side. I then cleaned and primed each piece, installed the platenuts and then painted the top with the hammered gray interior color I've been using. The pop rivet gun (manual) just fit between the ribs and all the rivets were installed. Next on the list is to begin the fuel lines and brake lines.....
