Brief Description: Combination RED/WHITE LED strip lights under the g
May, 12, 2012
I have installed, but have yet to wire a set of combination RED/WHITE LED strip lights under the glare shield that illuminate the instrument panel. The White LED light is connected to the Overhead light and both lights dim together in unison. The Red LED light is for night flying where White LED light in the cabin is not desirable. Actually, BLUE LED is better for the eye’s retinas at night (night vision) but everybody uses Red LED because the Navigation Charts have Blue lines that can’t be read under Blue LED lights. The Red LED is on a toggle switch and is uniquely dimmable. The idea is that the Overhead White light and night Red light should not be used at the same time so I should be able to use the same dimmer circuit for both lights. I am now waiting for a double through single pole switch to complete the install.
Time about 2 hours but yet to fully install the LED Strip
The RED LED Light is for Night Flying and is Dimmable
White LED Strip Light is actived with the Overhead Light and is Dimmable
