Brief Description:  C-656 Canopy Handles

SECTION 45-09

Step 1, Located both C-656 Canopy Handles and used a 1/2 drill to mark the bottom of the hole. See figure 1 called Prepare Canopy Handle. The drill a small pilot hole using the mark you just created with a 3/8 bit. Now drill a 13/32 inch hole through the pilot hole you just drilled. Then drill a #29” hole through the handle as shown in figure 1. Now smooth or round the front corners of the handle as seen necessary. This leaves a 13/32 hole inhte end of the Canopy Handle that does not look very good. So I found a 1/2 inch cap that fits the hole perfectly to improve the handles look.
Step 2, Inserted the WD-1022 Door Handle Assembly into the Canopy Handle. Now I drilled a #29 size hole using the Door Handle as a guide into and through the metal pipe ~ 1 inch of the WD-1022 Door Handle Assembly.
Step 3, I separated the assembly and final drilled #19 through the #29 holes.
Step 4, Final drilled #19 the #29 holes through ONLY the near side canopy handle. Then after going to Lowes and purchasing a die-and tap set I taped the #29 holes of the far side with an 8-32 tap. Now I countersunk the canopy handle for a AN509-8 screw. See figure 2 for further details.

Time about 1 hour.
