Brief Description: C-1003 L/R Front Windows Transparencies trimmed
SECTION 45-08
Step1, After Locating the C-1003 L/R Front Windows Transparencies I trimmed with the Multi-Tool the black scribe line to obtain a rough fit. However I found a crack on the right window after cutting that somehow appeared and will have to order another window from the Van’s inventory. I was surprised that the cost is $145.00 dollars though. Next time I will have to be more careful when cutting the thin window. Step 2, After test fitting the remaining right window C-1003-L to the C-1002 –L Door I trimmed the bottom to fit with 80 grit sand paper. Step 3, Satisfied with the fit I now further smoothed the rough edges with 220 grit sand paper to prevent micro cracks from occurring. Step 4, I used duct tape on both sides of the C-1003-L Window over the plastic covering to help protect the window during construction. This was followed by black electrical tape to wihin 3 / 4 inches of the edges or where the lip of the door is to fit the window. This space was roughed up with 220 grit sand paper to insure a proper bonding surface for the adhesive. Step 5, Checking the fit it looks like no shims are necessary for a proper flush to 0.010 low door recess. Step 6, TBD or To Be Done, I need to order another Right Window and the Weldon Adhesive.
