SECTION 43 CABIN COVER Page 43-9 Steps 1 to 9

Step 1, The temps in Georgia were between 75 – 80 degree F again today, as recommend for working with Plexi-Glass for best results. Using the cutting disks supplied with the kit I trimmed the C-1004-L/R Rear Windows along the black trim line. Tested the fit in the Rear Cabin window and marked and trimmed as necessary. Working carefully as not wanting to trim off too much of the Plex-glass material.

Step 2, Now I removed the C-1001 Cabin Crew Cover (again) from the Fuselage and using Alpha Epoxy and 3M Micro Bubbles I filled the depressions, imperfections, cuts and holes found throughout the inside of the C-1001 Cabin Crew Cover. Then using a “Heat Lamp” I purchased from Lowes I dried the fiberglass and began the sanding smooth process.

Step 3, Final Drilled the four holes in the top of the cabin with a #12 size using a 5/16” drill bit. The plans say “drill from the inside to the outside”.

Step 4, Located the AT6-058 X 5/16” aluminum tubing and cut four pieces 1 and 13/32” in length. This creates the F-10106 Spacers.

Step 5, I inserted one of the F-10106 Spacers into the drilled out holes in the C-1001 Cabin Cover and hammered in place until flush with the inside surface.

Step 6 and 7, I machine counter sunk the top of the four F-10106 Spacers for a MS-24694S72 screw and check the fit.

Step 8 and 9, I found the scrip of aluminum form way back in the Empennage Kit 1 chapter 10-12 step 1. I Cleco in place and then final drill #30 starting at the middle the strip at the back end of the C-1001 Cabin Cover. As shown in figure 4.
