Section 30, STEP INSTALLATION …. Pages 30-3, Steps 1 to 6

Step 1, I inserted the WD-1007-L/R Step as far as possible into the WD-1008-L/R Step Mounting Bracket and into the F-1038 Teflon Support Block until the weld top was flush with F-107-L/R Mid Side Skin.

Step 2, Measured 45.5 inches from the Aft lower corner of the F-1004B to the leading edge of the Step to create the correct amount of angle sweep.

Step 3, With-out moving the already set angle of the WD-1007-L/R Step I drilled a #30 match drill through the existing pilot hole, through the round pipe of the WD-1007-L/R Step and yes as the plans stated through the F-1077 Mid Bottom Skin. The hole in the bottom of the skin acts a drain hole and as a pilot hole incase access to the nut is necessary to remove the WD-1007-L/R Step after completion of the aircraft.

Step 4, The plans say drill a pilot hole that can be enlarged to remove the bolt after the aircraft is completed in the top of the F-1022A-L/R Baggage Floor Skin. However I skipped this as I did not want to drill a hole in the top of the skin at this time.

Step 5, Drilled with a #12 drill the top an d bottom holes of the WD-1008-L/R Mounting Bracket and WD-1007-L/R Step only not the bottom #30 drain pilot hole.

Step 6, Removed the WD-1007-L/R Step and deburred the holes. Removed the protective rust-proof coating on the Step and primed with DTM primer/finisher.

Time about 1.75 hours.
