Brief Description: Empennage Attachment 12-3. Steps 5 to 12
9/22/2008 ….. I began the attaching of the HS-910 Horizontal Stabilizer Tip Fairing as described in Figure 2 page 12-3. Steps 5 to 12. The Horizontal Stabilizer that holds the HS-910 Stabilizer Tip Fairings must attach to the Horizontal Elevator while performing this set of steps to insure a minimum 1/8” fit between the Horizontal Stab Fairing and the Horizontal Elevator Tip. I selected fiber glass resin and epoxy to create a end cap to the HS-910 Horizontal Stabilizer Tip Fairing as described in Figure 3 and 4. I build up three layers of fiber glass and then sanded smooth to fit the 1/8” gap. Then I deburred and dimpled (actually counter sank) the Horizontal Stab Tip Faring to be as perfect as possible and attached using CS4-4 rivets. Time about 4 hours for two HS-910 Horizontal Stabilizer Tip Fairing .
