Brief Description:  Empennage Attachment Section 11-10

09/13/2008 … EMPENNAGE ATTACHMENT IS COMPLETE …….. Routed the CT-Q-43 Control Cables that operate the Trim Tabs by means of the Electric Servo Unit through the opening in the Horizontal Stabilizer HS-1002 Front and Rear Spars then through the grommet snap bushing installed in the Elevator Front Spar and finally through the bottom opening in the Elevators for both Trim Tab Control Cables. Mounted the F-1095 Elevator Trim Actuator Sub-Assembly to the aft fuselage F-104 Aft Deck using the AN515-8R8 screws. Screwed the E-616PP Cover Plate with the 7/16” nut and added the plate back onto the Elevators. Then added AN665-21R rod bushing to the Elevator Trim Tab Horns after final drilling with a #12 Drill. Now check the Trim Tab movement for -35 degrees down and about 25 degrees up movement. After being satisfied that all step on Page 11-10 were completed and checking through the Empennage Attachment Section 11 I now began the process of disassembly of the HS and VS and Rudder from the Tail Cone for storage until actual final assembly can be accomplished at the Airport Hanger. Time about 4 hours. Now onto the attachment of the Fairing Caps Section 12.
