Section 29, FUSELAGE SIDE SKINS …. Pages 29-2 Steps 1 to 7
Step 1, I located the two AA6-125X3/4X3/3 angle aluminum to create the F-1046 L/R Fuse Longerons. The cut to an exact length of 49 23/32”.
Step 2, I marked with a felt tip marker the rivet line at exactly 5/16” from the edge of the AA6-125X3/4X3/3 angle aluminum.
Step 3, These are now known as the Left and Right F-1046 L/R Fuse Longerons. Using the F-1046B Longeron Bending Template I taped and then placed into a vice the Aluminum Angle and with a rubber mallet formed the Left and Right F-1046 L/R Fuse Longerons using the Template to with 1/16” of an inch.
Step 4, Placing both the Left and Right F-1046 L/R Fuse Longerons in the vice I set the F-1046B Longeron Bending Template on top then I taped firmly in place with the use of C-clamps to ensure that the template won’t move when I drill a series of #30 holes following the hole pattern in the top of the template into the F-1046 L/R Fuse Longeron.
Step 5, I deburred the holes in both Left and Right F-1046 L/R Fuse Longerons.
Step 6, I cut the F-1013 L/R Fwd Fuselage Longerons from two pieces of AA6-125X3/4X3/4 as described in figure 3. The dimension overall lengths were; Right F-1013-R Forward Fuselage Longerons is cut to 113 1/2” and the Left Right F-1013-R Forward Fuselage Longerons is cut to a different size of 92 5/32”.
Step 7, I then marked the F-1013 L/R Fwd Fuselage Longerons to the dimensions shown in figure 3. And then I marked with a felt tip marker the rivet line at exactly 5/16” from the edge of the AA6-125X3/4X3/3 angle aluminum. I also ordered some drill bits that I needed because I was always breaking or dulling the nose of the bit. I ordered 10, #40 and 8, #30 bits from the Yard.
Time about 3 hours.
