Brief Description:  Mountain High O2 Supply Remote Filler and Glossy I

02/25/2012

I am continuing installing the custom built-in O2 system in the X-10. I ordered some parts from Mountain High O2 Supply in Redmond, Oregon. I needed a remote filler so I don’t have to remove the 22 cubic foot CGA 540 bottle every time from behind the baggage bulkhead it becomes low. I also ordered some pilot, co-pilot and passengers CPC Bulkhead Outlet Fittings where you plug-in the cannels breathers or O2 masks. They say NO SMOKING on them even though O2 is not supposed to be combustible itself. And I am carefully routing the 1/4 inch O.D. medical grade tubing to each person on board the aircraft, where it will not interfere with the aircrafts controls. And I am finally painting the interior replaceable/inspection panels and other necessary interior items with a final coat of clear paint. I investigated and tested four possibilities; flat, matte, satin and gloss all in the 12 oz. spray can. Gloss seemed to be the best suited so I selected Rust-Oleum, Crystal Clear Enamel “a protective glossy finish” for the interior final finish that should protect the Jet Flex White paint. Anyway, I have seen other RV-10 builders have a gloss interior and exterior finish and it looks great.
