Brief Description:  Spar Box Install and Wing Alignment IV

I could not get the spar bolt all the way in on the pilot side. I got it through the front spar box half the front spar, the rear spar, but not the rear spar box half.

I talked to Mark S. at Arion. He gave me a couple of tips which may be useful.

He said that after installing the spar box halves, install the spar bolts and look at them in the horizontal plane to determine if they are parallel to the chord line drawn earlier. If not, you will have to move one half of the spar box up or down at one or both ends by elongating the holes in the fuselage. Fill any of the old hole that is left with an epoxy/flox mix.

Also, look at the spar bolts in the vertical plane to see if they are parallel to the airplane's longitudinal axis. Here I don't have a drawn line to refer to but I think a square set against the spar box should work. Remove spacer washers on one end of the spar box half to be moved and add to the other

This check before trying to fit the wing should have been obvious to me really.

I took the wings out again and sure enough the pilot side spar bolt was not parallel with the chord line. I am now working to fix that.
