Brief Description:  Fuselage Preparation II

Today I sanded the joggle flats around the window cut-outs to remove the gel coat to allow the epoxy to bond. Jim Langley commented previously that when using a sanding wheel for this, to go very carefully and not too fast. The material is very thin here by design, so I used Permagrit tools and sandpaper. That was probably over careful and took longer than necessary.

I also cut out the holes for the flap torque tube on both sides and the D shaped hole in the port wing root.

I am already beginning to doubt the use of the Rotozip with a Rotozip cutting bit. The one I have is a fast fixed speed and appears to heat the cutting bit too much. It seems fine when using a cutting wheel, but the 3.5" wheels are too large for the small radius curves.
