Brief Description: Setting Wing Incidence day 2 and Fwd Attach Bracke
Overlapping wing/fuse skins underneath drilled. The I made up the forward attach bracket that bolts to the fuel tank bracket. This was made from heavy alum. angle - cut like butter now that I changed my bandsaw blades to 6 TPI (was 18 TPI - too much heat and melted aluminum filling the gullets between teeth - I thought you couldn't use aggressive low teeth per inch blades, but a tip from an EAA site said otherwise). After bending the finished bracket a little per the plans, I clamped it to the fuel tank bracket while it rested on the fuselage and backdrilled through the fuselage into the bracket flange. Then it was bolted on. TIP - do not trim the fuselage part of the bracket until backdrilling is done. I know of one builder who cut the bracket to final dimensions per the plan, backdrilled, and was on the bare edge of having proper edge distance to the holes.
Yeah, this was fun for my back - hence the plank. No nutritional value in aspirated aluminum either.
Fabricated bracket on left attaches to fuel tank bracket in grey.
Next, the flaps - here sitting in the landing configuration.
