Back in action after a couple weeks off traveling to Alaska (plenty of floatplane action) and camping. Started left wing light - I did the HID xenon conversion of a Duckworks landing light in the right wing, and in this left wing, I will do the same but with a wide angle lens for taxiing purposes. First, I cutout the leading edge, filed, deburred. Then i fabricated the mounting plate (pic 2). I also made the ballast support bracket. I did a fair amount of testing outdoors with the taxi lers and a cutout shaped to the wing leading edge to see if this reflector will suit my purposes. It worked well - throwing light wide but not far, whereas the landing light is opposite.
