Brief Description: Attach leading edge and fuel tank to left wing
Attached the leading edge and tank. For the former, Austin helped shoot rivets with the gun and a double offset set (pic 1), while I reached into the position with the tungsten bar. Part of the leading edge rib to spar rivets were done by reaching thru the end rib, and most thru lightening holes in the spar. Would have been a bitch without Austin - out of 40+ rivets, he only messed up one where we had to drill it out. The skin was riveted with the squeezer. The tank was next installed - bolts were used to attach the baffle brackets to the spar, and size 8 screws for the skin to spar. I was very pleased with an excellent side to side alignement with the leading edge section.
