Brief Description:  Sealing tank

Ahhhh, here comes the dreaded fuel tank sealant, aka Black Death! After reviewing my favorite three websites and Van's instructions on this next step, I assembled all items needed and mentally rehearsed the steps. First, all parts and rivets cleaned with MEK. FTS measured out with the hardner 10:1 by weight using an electronic postage scale (wrapped in a ziplock for protection). After the nasty stuff was mixed, I spread it with tongue depressors on skin and stiffners, placed rivets, wiped with MEK, then placed rivet tape. Stiffners attached, then I back riveted on. Bt the way, I taped stiffners areas with electrical tape to keep goop from smearing all over, and to protect rib positions. All stiffners filleted, and rivet heads covered. Next, I attached the fuel tank flange, back riveted with mushroom bar on outside, fillteted goop and covered rivets. Drain flange was last, done with squeezer. By now, the FTS was getting stiff. All areas were cleaned with MEK, as were the tools. No biggy - went well.
