Brief Description:  error and priming

Here is a pic of a significant screw-up - arrrgh! The squeezer was fired to early, punching a hole with the dimple pilot adjacent to the intended hole. I used flat dies to squeeze the created dimple flat, then dimpled the true hole. I used a round jeweler's file to clean up the bad hole. It will be important to ensure this never become the nidus for a crack to propogate. I will also send this pic (before filing was done) to Van's and post to Rivetbangers and VansAirforce.net to get their thoughts, as this has happened to many others. Cosmetically, no worries. Bondo or other polyester fillers can be used to cover it.Second pic shows all the primed parts done. All were done with NAPA 7200 rattle cans, as I am not interested in getting into the two part epoxies and spray guns. As I said earlier, there are thousands of 'ancient' production aircraft flying out there without a speck of primer.Next - final assembly of the HS! Then, on to the rudder and elevators. As the wing kithas a 2 month lead time to delivery, I'll probably place an order soon.
