Brief Description:  Finished work on 705 bulkhead

We drove some rivets today in very close quarters but there are still 2 more on left side and 3 on right side that we just aren't able to get to even with all kinds of contortions by Claude and me. We also drilled the flap end bearings. One of 4 holes is slightly off center which we will correct by drilling it out for an AN4 bolt rather than an AN3. This finally completes the 705 bulkhead. It has taken us longer than we expected but both Claude and I are getting much better at driving and bucking rivets. We are learning and getting much better at what we are doing, but we both surely wish we could go FASTER. Oh well! Rome wasn't built in a day and neither is a RV9A. I have been sweating profusely when inside the fuselage working. The fan doesn't stir the air any down in there. Keith pointed out to me that we were getting some corrosion where the sweat drops were falling. So while Claude was drilling, I washed, scuffed, and painted with self-etching primer some of these areas. I guess that I will have to start wearing a sweat band. I think that the next step is to mount the "step up"used to climb up on the wing - if we ever get the wings mounted to climb up on. That is what we will do tomorrow while we wait on some Cherry Max pull rivets for the areas under the flange.
