Brief Description: Landing Gear Actuators and Wheels
Got quite a bit done today. Completed landing gear mechanisms on both sides and assembled both tire sets. I went with the upgraded tires and breaks and so far I'm very happy with their quality and craftsmanship. I also got an idea from Tom Bowden to route break lines through the struts and seal the struts to prevent water from coming in - I've already found four perfectly sized rubber stoppers. I'm still thinking about how to ensure that the inside can still "breathe" to limit corrosion...
Tomorrow I'll mount the wheels to the plane - but I'll be stuck on that part until the gear board, wiring and battery arrive...
Jon has been enjoying the work, but its been a little cold in the garage so he's been sticking next to the heater and has had his feet on a heating pad to keep comfortable - he's so spoiled!
