Brief Description:  Windshield Installation 2

I realized while updating my log that I haven't been taking many pictures of the windshield installation. My shop camera died recently, so I don't have a camera sitting in the grage 24/7 and have taken fewer pictures. To catch you up, the windshield is about done minus the fairing.

Like the slider, the windshield is glued in place with Sika 205UV. There are no holes at all. The only mechanical fasteners are some clips I riveted to the fuselage for alignment and a couple for clamping. The clips are pretty much embeded in the adhesive. I used the same spacer method as the slider. The system worked very well. I could have made the filets smaller, but it is too late now...

The fron of the roll bar was very difficult, access is limited for a larger caulking gun and the geometry doesn't work well for soothing with your thumb. I did find that cured sika can be wet-sanded with 400-grit to a nice even matt finish. I did a couple sanding/filling steps to get it good enough. Not perfect, but I am happy.
