Brief Description:  Dimmer Saga

Rather than break this story up over multiple entries I decided to stick it in one spot. I have been working on the lighting dimmer on and off over the last few weeks.

I started with just tow simple dimmer circuits. The POT was to be mounted in the panel with the PWM driver mounted remotely (Rev 0). This setup was to operate three single-color LED light strips. One dimmer would control the flood lights and the other the glareshield lights.

After some thought I decided to mount the PWM circuits in the same location as the POT and switches for ease of removal and maintenance. (Rev 1).

Well, a while later I came across some cool RGB LED strips. I just had to have multiple color functionality. I added a 4 pos selector switch so I can select between Red, Green, Blue, and White (all). Of course this added a lot of wire and required a larger connector. I am pretty happy with the final result, but in reality it was probably a waste of time and effort. I probably should have just picked a color and gone with it.

Scope-creep at its best!
