Today I reworked my radio stack again. I had decided to mount the radios so that the face was flush with the panel. My existing mounting rails were to short for the flush mounting so I had to make a new set of rails. I got the radios fitted in place and the holes drilled. There is still plenty more to do, but it is looking good. Normally the radios and be slid out of the panel by just loosening the retaining screw on the front. A plus of my new mounting it that the right sub-panel has to have the screws removed and the panel pushed to the side a bit to get the radios out. I see this as a security feture to prevent avionics theft.
On a negative note. I found that the throttle cable provided by Vans in the FWF kit is a good 2.5" short so I will have to buy a new cable.
