Brief Description:  Elevator 7

The time has finally come for me to get the left elevator finished up. To get this thing done, I had to make a couple forming block to bend the flanges on the elevator and trim tab to close the open ends. I made my forming block out of two pieces of poplar laminated together and cut at an angle on the table saw.

The part to be formed gets clamped to the edge of the work beck with one wedge inside and the other wedge on top to make a good spot for clamping. The tabs are then bend to overlap eachother and close the open end. The overlapping tabs are then drilled and dimpled for blind rivets.

Overall, everything came out pretty good. The outboard end of the trim tab isn't perfectly parallel to the inboard edge of the elevator, but close enough.

In case you were wondering, Yes, this was a PITA
