Alright, this fan is getting to be a bit problematic. The fan bearing siezed up again. This time it was badd enough to stop it from running. The whole assembly was pretty hot from the friction and extra load. I broke down the fan again and polished the shaft and bearing as best I could. There is nothing to hold grease in the front bearing (it is open at both ends) so I can see why it failed. I dug around the shop looking so see if I had a ball bearing of the correct size, but no joy.
I greased and reassembled the fan again. We'll see what happens. With it 100+ in the shop, I need that fan - it puts out a ton of air.
