Back from our 40th anniversary trip to Hawaii. Prepare to rivet the brackets on the battery box. First I cleaned the powdercoating out of the holes for the mounting bolts and the nutplates. Then I set up to rivet the brackets with the squeezer. The rivets called out in the plans were too short and the next size too long. I don't have a rivet cutter so I made a gauge from a scrap piece of the canopy track I could use to sand down rivets to a custom size. This worked well and I riveted the brackets with no issues. Riveted on floating nutplates for the firewall bolts to the mounting brackets. Also used the squeezer to rivet the hinges to the box. Assembled the box and the battery fit well.
