I borrowed an engine hoist from Ken Freeman and we brought it to the shop yesterday. The hoist wouldn't go under the crate with my furniture dollies, so I jacked it up and used 4x4s to block it up and make room for the hoist. Took a couple of evolutions and two jacks to get it up high enough to roll the hoist under the crate. Then I slowly lifted the engine out of the crate and removed the inner plastic bag that had kept the engine sealed until now. Also removed some other packing material and gave the engine a good look over. Everything looks fine. Set the engine back down in the crate.
