I cut the threaded rod to size and assembled the components to connect the trim motor to the tab. I found the fitting on the trim motor would hit the skin of the elevator near full travel. Filed the opening and that helped some as I ran the trim through full range of motion. Once I got the fitting to clear, the threaded rod began to drag on the skin. Researched Van's and talked to Ken and both recommended putting a slight bend in the rod for clearance. This worked well and I was able to get full travel on the trim tab with no interference. Drilled a hole for safety wire, bent the end of the hinge pin, and saftied the trim tab hinge pin in place.
