Brief Description:  Final Prep for Skin Riveting

One suggestion from the tech counselor was to make the snaprings at the aft end of the rudder cables fit better. The standard size holes would not allow the snaprings to seat with the tubing and plastic sheath on the cable inside. Used a dremel sanding drum and gently opened holes until snaprings fit well.

Got a plywood piece from Ken Freeman that he had cut to fit the aft section of his RV-7. Put that in and began clecoing the aft turtledeck skin on. Cleco'd the forward turtledeck and the stiffeners on. Put the floors in the baggage area and cockpit area and secured with screws.

Decided to take the wheels off to make the fuselage stand more stable for riveting. Jacked up stand and removed wheels, setting stand on blocks to get the jack out. Called in Joseph and Frances to help lift the fuselage and remove the blocks so the stand is flat on the floor. Fuselage is much more stable now and height is better for riveting work.
