Used the squeezer to rivet nutplates on the F-983A fuel valve plate and screwed it to the main spar. Cleco'd the fuel valve cover and the F-982C center cover in place. Used the marks on the center cover to locate the holes for the side rivets. Center punched then drilled the side holes to #40 with an angle drill. Cleco'd as I went. Once all four were drilled to #40 I upsized to #30. Used the center cover as a drill guide to mark the firewall recess for drilling. Removed the center cover and upsized the side holes fo screws. Used a nutplate jig to drill for nutplates. Deburred, dimpled and installed nutplates with the squeezer. Removed the firewall recess and drilled the marks to #40. Upsized holes for screws. Used the nutplate jig to drill rivet holes for nutplates. Back riveted nutplates to the firewall recess with the C-frame and gun.
Marked a centerline on the right corner gusset and tried to bolt it to the spar. Had interference with a rivet and made a notch in the gusset for clearance. Then alignment checked good, so I bolted it in and drilled it to the fuselage using the #40 holes as a drill guide. Cleco'd as I went.
