I drilled the rivets holding the gusset to the longeron so I could move it aft. I cleco'd on the aft skin and positioned the gusset to give good alignment for the skin holes, then clamped it in position. I then added the forward skin to be sure everything still lined up. With both skins on I drilled the doubler to #30 and cleco'd as I went. Dis assembled and the holes looked good. I marked the longeron for the new position and removed the clamp. The new holes are too close to the old holes, so I marked edge distance from the holes in the gusset, the edge of the gusset, and the location of the vertical flange on the longeron. WIth all of these marks I could determine safe locations for new holes in the gusset and longeron. I centerpunched and drilled #40 holes and cleco'd, then upsized to #30. I then removed the rivets on the bulkhead and filled the old holes in the longeron with flush head oops rivets to minimize the material loss. I riveted the gusset back on to the longeron, and then to the bulkhead. Put the aft skin back on and all holes lined up very nicely.
