The plans are a bit vague on what to do with the F-623, only to "Fit and drill..." with very little other guidance. Researched on VAF website and found pictures from several other builders on how to modify this rib to fit. Estimated amount to remove from forward end and cut on the band saw. Cleaned up and checked fit, lining up the point on the skin with the gap at center of rib and flanges with the edge of the skin. Used disc sander to adjust fit. When I was satisfied, cut relief angle on the flanges per the plans, and finished on the scotchbrite wheel.
