I got back from vacation yesterday and could not wait to get in the hanger and back to work on the bird. I had a few packages waiting for me including some much needed hardware and the new TruTrak autopilot. I mounted the control head in the panel and started fabricating another mount on the firewall for the GRT GPS antenna. So as it stands now, there is the hockey puck antenna for XM weather, the GPS antenna for the Garmin 696 and the GPS antenna for the Grand Rapids 8.4 Sport AFIS. This will be a full IFR bird with an SL30 for IFR localizer approaches and a coupled TruTrak to tame the bird in bumpy weather coupled to the GRT and the SL 30 for ILS approaches. I made one more GPS antenna mount today shown in picture 1 and mounted the TruTrak control head in the panel shown in picture 2. This is a Digiflight II VSVG, which has the capability of Tracking the ILS course through the GRT AFIS. I am trying to get all the hardware mounted first so I can logically sting the wire harnesses as required. The next few things I need to do are install the AP servos and the static and pitot tubes to the AP.
