Brief Description:  Vertical Stabilizer

Since it was raining and I couldn't prime the HS parts I decided to start the VS. This went faster then anticipated. All the part came together well and the fit was good. I filed all the edges and buffed the with a Scotch Brite wheel. The spar reinforcement bar required quite a bit of clean up since it's a stamped part. The ribs need considerable fluting but the skin fit perfectly. Match tool parts are very accurate and it was just a great experience putting the piece together. Still need to dimple and de-burr the skins tomorrow. I hope to prime all the HS & VS part together on Tuesday and start riveting this week. It will be nice to get some riveting under my belt, I haven’t touched a rivet gun in 10 years. I plan to start with low pressure and carefully learn my way into it again.
