Brief Description:  Ataching the canopy rollover frame

It may not look like 6 hours of work, but it was. This is a very exacting and attachment job and requires careful work. The bolt spacer bracket tapers and must fit exactly over the longeron and against the canopy sill. They are then match drilled from the top to ensure all the piece line up. Vans directions are rally good here and if you follow them exactly, you should be ok. The only thing missing in the directions is the requirement to make a notch in the bottom of the canopy sill for the back bolt to allow you to get a wrench in place to fit the spacer and tighten the nut on the AN 4 bolt. This is no big deal; I used a Unibit and a small sanding drum to allow access. Tomorrow I will go to work on the canopy tracks. I guess it’s time to take the wings off also, so I can get the canopy done and paint the interior. It seems like I spend as much time taking things apart as I do putting them together, but we have all heard this before. Such is the process of building an airplane, make it, fit it, paint it and take it apart until final assembly. You just have to love this stuff!
