I used a putty knife and slide it under the backside of the layup over the canopy to separate it and slide back the canopy. This worked well and because I waxed the clear plastic tape under it, they separated nicely. I then used my pneumatic saw that I bought from Harbor Freight for $30, to cut the back edge to the trim line from the electrical tape. This little saw finally came through and found a job it liked, because I had tried it before on Aluminum and it was not great. I cleaned up the back edge with a sanding block, the five 8.8 oz layups came out to a little more then 1/8”.
