Brief Description:  Fiberglass windscreen layups

Ok, I won’t go into how much I hate working with fiberglass. When it’s wet and you’re doing layups it is sticky, and the glass cloth wants to unwind. Getting the air pockets out seem like an exercise in futility and everything you touch gets epoxy on it, including the floor. Yuk!!! When it hardens and you start to sand it into shape, the dust gets everywhere and every part of your body starts to itch. I really dislike this stuff, but the results always seem to work after a Herculean effort and sometimes there is just no other way to make the parts.
The windscreen molding is in place and hardening, I used a quart of West epoxy and almost 2 yards of 8.8 ounce BID cloth. I used the Rutan stuff, it’s a nice tight weave and it worked really well on the rear skirt. I will probably let it cure for 2 days before I start whipping it into shape, sanding and filling.
