Brief Description: Wiring up the Main and Endurance Bus
The 6 gauge wire and terminals for the main bus came in today from B & C and I didn’t have a clue how to swage the terminals in place. I called Ray Sheffield and he had a huge nico-press type crimper that handles 4-10 gauge swages. He needed to fly today anyway and decided to fly over from Twin Lakes for lunch. The net is, it did a great job and we could not pull the terminal off a test piece even with the wire in the vice and pulling it with vice grips. I put heat shrink on the terminal after we did the swage. I also mounted the endurance bus diode to a heat sink as required for a 10 Amp endurance bus and mounted it to the sub-panel. I just try to get something wired every day and hopefully one day in my lifetime all the wiring will be done.
